This is the frosty cold area of the plains.
Lichens, scrubby pines, and other tough plants exist here beneath layers of frost.
A few plants from the Frosted Arboretum have also migrated in.
A small tick squirms out from a crack in the mountain and scurries here, where the towering Heights block much of the sunlight.
In one direction, the Plains fade gradually into grasslands. Beyond that, you can see a desert. The Plains undercut the mountain in another direction. The Bay and some scrubby groves of trees are to the East, and some rocky piles rise up out of the frost to the West.
